Daytona Yoga With Krista
Is For People Wanting Mind-Body-Spirit Connection

ALL BODY SHAPES, SIZES, AGES, AND EXPERIENCE ARE WELCOME!

Those that attend my classes and retreats desire health & happiness through:

  • Increased physical stamina so you feel more flexible, less sore, have better posture and are stronger in your body

  • Learning yoga practices that support your exact body type, so you can be confident in everyday activities and have less worry about getting hurt

  • Meditation and breath work exercises that allow you to stay calm and peaceful, even in agitated situations

  • Meaningful conversations and connection with people on a regular basis as a foundation for easy and new friendships

  • Regular activity that includes physical exercise, mental engagement, and spiritual relaxation

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to have a regular practice of yoga? You’ve heard about all the physical, emotional and spiritual benefits yoga can offer and wonder what it could mean for you? Have you imagined what it would be like to actually feel stronger, less sore, more relaxed, and more connected to yourself?'

Do you experience body aches, feel like you’re slowing down and struggle to stay active? Do you find it frustrating, embarrassing and sometimes even scary to deal with? Day in and day out, you can't help but be reminded of the changes in your body that are happening over time. Do you look in the mirror and at times don't even recognize yourself or your life? How did it all change so quickly?

Perhaps you've tried taking other yoga classes or fitness classes or even dance class to make time for yourself, and although you see familiar faces, there's no real community or deep connections.

You know it's important to make sure you are getting enough movement and exercise so you can stay active for years to come, but worry that with age it will get harder.

You've been looking for ways to improve your physical and emotional health and are anxious that the wrong physical activity could hurt you or making previous injuries worse.

Do you long for a regular routine where you can create deeper connections and friendships who will support you in creating a positive, healthy daily structure bringing ease and joy to your life?

Try Gentle and Chair Yoga Classes that:

  • Strengthen your physical body so you can perform everyday activities safely and more easily.

  • Increase your flexibility so you feel less stiff and sore.

  • Offer gentle movements of the spine and pelvis that open the center of the body so you feel more mobile for the tasks of your day.

  • Increase your balance and stability so you can feel confident when you leave your home.

  • Destress and declutter your mind so you feel a sense of peace and calm that even others will notice.

  • Offers a community of others with similar desires and goals so you feel less alone and more connected.

Classes are offered both in person and online
so you can choose what works for you.

Benefits of in person classes:

  • You have a reason to leave the house when you feel isolated and disconnected.

  • Feel the energy and support from a room full of students who also want to feel better physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

  • Have access to a complete closet of supplies, supports, and props for your practice. No need to invest in your own.

  • Make real connections and friendships with other students from your local community.

Benefits of online classes:

  • Attend classes from the comfort of your own home in your own space offering convenience and comfort of not having to leave the house.

  • Save time and energy by not having to “get dressed” or commute to class.

  • You can practice from anywhere you have internet which means while your visiting family or even on vacation or if you’re a snow bird and have 2 homes you can practice in each place allowing you to stay consistent in your practice and connected to your community.

  • Take class with your beloved fur babies at home so they won’t miss you when you leave the house.

  • Take care of yourself while being home in the case of scheduled deliveries or workman or even while caring for others.

  • No need to carry special equipment with you to class, just use what you have at home.

  • With proper equipment, be seen by the instructor to receive corrections and validation during the practice.

  • Make real connections and friendships with other students locally and from all over the country.

There are many unique classes as well as a variety of ways to participate.

Welcome! I’m Krista Oakes. I’m a certified yoga and meditation teacher (E-RYT) that specializes in working with beginners and seniors. I teach gentle yoga classes that focus on safety, proper body alignment, mindfulness and learning to trust yourself- even if you are new to yoga.

I started my journey to yoga over 20 years ago and since that time I’ve taught yoga to thousands of people up and down the east coast. I’ve also spent 30 years practicing meditation. My approach to teaching integrates Kripalu Yoga style of teaching compassion, with the mindfulness of meditation, and the awareness of nutrition, blended with personal training, and lifestyle coaching with humor sprinkled throughout!

I offer yoga and meditation classes both online and in person, beach yoga, YogaWalks, integrative yoga life coaching, and retreats. My work has been featured in publications like Carla Magazine, Canvas Rebel, and on WNDB radio. I will help you feel healthy, happy, and connected while making it all purposeful, grounded and fun!

When I’m not helping people discover the magic of yoga, I enjoy writing. I published my first book in 2024, “Shedding Shame: Finding the Freedom to Live an Authentic Life.” When I’m not the mat, you can find me actively involved in the local community. I’m passionate about helping people get out and vote! I’m a member of Volusia County Women Who Care, a fundraising organization created by women supporting local by nonprofit agencies. I also support our local chapter of Team RWB, a national organization that supports veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. I also love spending time with my 2 incredible sons and extended family. My secret and occasional indulgences are traveling, exploring new places and reading a good novel while sipping coffee on the patio.

I’m so looking forward to connecting with you and sharing the gifts of yoga and mindfulness!
