Learn this valuable yoga breathing technique called the Candle Breath that is great to practice in the midst of a stressful situation. It will help you reduce stress and anxiety in just a few short breaths.
Start by sitting up nice and tall so the spine is long and the breath can flow freely.
Take a deep breath in through the nose and then you exhale through the mouth with pursed lips. It's like you're blowing out a candle. It's like you're cooling down a hot cup of coffee.
Take a deep breath in through the nose and then exhale so the breath out is about twice as long as the breath in.
I encourage you to close your eyes. Be still. And continue with as many rounds as you need to feel more calm.
Once complete, notice the peace and the calm that it brings you.
