Yoga for Core Strength

Yoga can be so good for your core strength. And all it takes is a few minutes a day. Try this simple movement which will have you feeling stronger in no time.

Try this simple movement you can do that's really good for your core.

Start by moving to the front edge of your seat and lengthen up through the spine. Get as long as you can through the crown of the head. Really stabilize and isolate your core. Imagine you have a back brace on preventing you from bending the spine in any direction. Then one at a time start to lift your foot off the floor.

Just lift the foot as high as you can without moving your spine at all. Then mindfully lower the foot back to the floor. You'll feel your core muscles working.

Be mindful to prevent collapsing in your back, hunching forward, or moving from side to side. The idea is to keep the whole upper body steady so that it has no movement at all.

After you do this for a few repetitions, rest back into your chair. You're going to feel all the effort of strengthening through your core once the movement is complete. Each day try to do a few more repetitions as you build strength.

One of the reasons this is such a great exercise is because you can do it easily at home. You can even do it while you're eating at a table. You can combine it with watching TV or with anything else your doing at home from a seated position.

I encourage you to try it, to really implement it, and see how you feel. Feel the strength building in your body.
