This stretch will help to release tension in your neck and also the shoulders. This is a great stretch if you wake up with a stiff neck or have been spending a lot of time on the computer.
Do you ever have neck pain or discomfort? Do you ever wake up with a stiff nick? Have you ever noticed neck pain after spending too much time on your computer or other electronic devices?
If so, this stretch can offer some relief.
Let your head drop over to the side and then drop your chin down so you're looking down towards your opposite hipbone. Make little adjustments and micro movements until you feel the stretch that lengthens the tight muscles in your neck.
Hold the stretch for a few moments. Start by taking 3 deep breaths. When you’re ready to come out of the stretch, lift your head very slowly.
Be sure to take a few moments before you go to the other side.
I'd start by holding the stretch for at least a minimum of three slow breaths. As you feel the neck release, you might hold the stretch for five breaths. Or even longer. Listen to how it feels and be intentional with how long you hold the stretch.
Also, be kind and gentle in the stretch. Be mindful not to over due it.
With patience and consistency, this stretch can help release tension in your neck and in your shoulders and even in your upper back.
The next time you feel a little stiff, a little tight, or you’ve woken up a little sore in your neck, try this neck stretch.
