Yoga isn't just about poses on the mat. Yoga is a practice for living life. And in this Mindful Monday, I share with you the practice of celebrating you. This is an important skill to strengthen because you deserve to be not only acknowledged but celebrated for all the things you do every day - even the little things.
The Yoga Trinity is made up of three parts. This video is focused on part 1 of 3.
The first part of the Yoga Trinity is celebrating you by celebrating the things that you make happen in your life.
This is the practice of giving yourself credit where credit is due. It’s the practice of bragging about yourself which most of us are not used to doing.
You might celebrate something you've done at work like completed a project or helped a customer or client. Maybe it’s as simple as providing good service. Or you might celebrate something you’ve done for your family like organizing a family vacation or fun activity. You might celebrate self-care like going to yoga class or spending a few moments in meditation.
It could also be something really simple like creating a really nice, healthy dinner for yourself or maybe your family.
To make the meal you have to go to the store to purchase the ingredients. You have to take the time to cut the vegetables and cook the chicken just right, adding in the right spices so it tastes good. You’re adding love and attention to the meal.
This meal doesn't happen by accident.
What we tend to do is play small and say, "It's nothing, no big deal, I just threw something together."
When in reality YOU THROUGH SOMETHING TOGETHER. And that is worth celebrating. You are worth giving yourself credit for what you make happen each day. Making a wonderful meal is worth bragging about.
I invite you, right now, to acknowledge something you've done today to celebrate.
