It's so amazing when things come full circle.
Back in 2011 when I had my brick and mortar studio in Daytona Beach we had the opportunity to bring all sorts of practictioners and creatives to our studio. Some where along the line we made a connection with Karl Miranda.
He's a musician who, at the time, lead drum circles at our studio. And they were awesome. We'd dim the lights. Karl would bring a wide assortment of drums and other instruments. And people would come from all over to make music together. To be in the flow.
Karl even led some therapeautic drum circles for kids. Mine included. We had so much fun back then. Karl was a regular at the studio and everybody loved him.
Then somehow we lost touch.
I haven't heard from Karl since I closed the studio in 2012.
And then out of the blue, a few months ago I heard from him. He's been through a lot of changes and transitions since then just like me. He had taken a step back from music. He was focused on work and his family.
But now it's time to play again! He's feeling the pull to create and offer live music in a variety of ways.
He reached out to me because he has fond memories of us working together all those may years ago just like I do. He made the effort to reconnect and now...
Karl is joining me whenever he can at Beach Yoga!
He’s been a self-taught musician most of his life. He fluently plays the Native American Flute, several percussion instruments, as well the Australian Didgeridoo, and keyboards. He combines environmental nature sounds and indigenous instruments to create an ambiance that promotes a suitable space for numerous physical and meditative activities.
Karl says, “There is no medicine more therapeutic than the sounds found in nature. They have the incredible ability to ground us, and uplift our spirit”.
I am so excited to be working with Karl again. In addition to being a great musician, he's a beautiful human being. His ability to connect in a group, feel the energy, and change the world with his music is palpable.
If you've never practiced yoga to live music before, you'll find it's an incredibly moving and powerful experience.
I think you'll find it peaceful, moving, and relaxing. And that's exactly what we want at Beach Yoga.
Here’s the link to Karl’s music that he has offered you exclusively for being at Beach Yoga on June 29th. I hope you enjoy it. Please be sure to visit his FB page @KarlMirandaMusic.
